Mozart’s hometown is very special and dazzling around Christmas. The famous Christmas market is the oldest market in the Salzburg region and also the largest event with international importance. The beautiful, light-filled atmosphere of the city is unique and charm everyone. This Christmas Market is the highlight for preparation for children and also for adults.

Program

• 1. day: Melk, Linz Departure from Budapest from Southen Train Terminal at 06.30 am by bus. Travelling en route Tatabánya - Delhi - Hegyeshalom - Vienna – Melk. We will visit Melk Abbey, built above the Danube, a majestic building of the Austrian Baroque masterpiece. The Abbey is an important cultural center from centuries. For more than 900 years Benedictine monks live here. After visiting the temple and the beautiful saloons we proceed to Linz. Linz was Europe’s Cultural Capital in 2009. Austria's third largest city lies on the two shores of Danube. The charming streets of the historical old town invite everybody for a walk. The main square is one of Austria’s most beautiful squares with impressive buildings, and with a perfect atmosphere. We will visit the Parish Church, provincial headquarters, and the new Cathedral, that is the biggest church in Austria. In the evening arrival to the hotel in/near Salzkammergut. (2 nights)
• 2. day: Salzburg Full day tour in Salzburg. This city is a real diamond of the northern side of the Alps, also considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, not undeservedly. High mountains and the frantic speed Salzach River provide the beauty of nature, and the monuments are also amazing (baroque city center, Cathedral, Archbishop's Palace, Prince, Franciscan Church, Mozart’s birthplace, Mirabell palace, citadel). You will have some free time for leasure, you can visit any museum you chose, or just stroll along the Advent Fair.
• 3. day: Gmunden, Steyr, Christkindl Our first stop will be Gmunden, this small town located on the northern tip of Lake Traun. Walking to the charming main square, and adore one of the most beautiful alpine lakes. We will continue our trip to Steyr, which offer the visitors historical sights. Walk through the well preserved, medieval old town. Christmas tradition are very important in this city, you will find here the Christmas Tree Ornament Museum. The Christkindl pilgrimage church on the outskirts has a legend, It’s establishment connected to the story of a miraculous healing. The world famous Christmas Post Office has been operating since 1950. In the church’s side-building beautiful Bethlehem can be admired. The mechanical Bethlehem is famous from its moving characters, and the Pöttmesser Bethlehem is famous from its gigantic size. Return home via Vienna - Hegyeshalom - Delhi – Tata. . Arrival to Székesfehérvár and Budapest late in the evening.
